CEDF-IT COSPLAY HD (Harajuku District)



  HARAJUKU. Renowned for its Street Fashion has been an alley for inspiration because of its Sense of Style. 

CEDf-IT in partnership with Ayala Center Cebu and Cebu Holdings Inc., in cooperation with iLuvCebu.com present CEDf-IT Cosplay HD (Harajuku District) on October 29, 2011 from 5PM – 12MN at the Ayala Linear Park (Between Cebu Holdings Center and City Sports Club of Cebu), Cebu Business Park.

On this Night of Festivities, everyone is welcome to bring their own fashion style and is encourage to think out of the box and be whoever YOU want to be. You can infuse multiple style of Fashion to form your own unique look, may it be as a Cosplayer, Fashionista, or just being the Unique-You.

The Event will Highlight a Cosplay Competition with Four (4) Categories : Kiddo-Cosplay, Male-Cosplay, Female-Cosplay and Group Cosplay. Raffles through out the event will also be drawn, so hold on to those tickets to take home event memorabilia and other exciting prizes! A festive night with live bands, dancers, musical performers and various artists to celebrate with! Food stalls, fashion and souvenir shops will surround the park to complete the feel of Harajuku District!




In line with this event, we are also proud to present an exclusive Cosplay Workshop at Cebu City Sports Club on October 28, 2011 conducted by the TUXEDO TEAM from Manila headed by Jin Joson herself! There will also be a Cosplay Photo Exhibit by Cebu Digital Photographers (CDP) at Ayala Center Cebu starting October 24 – 30, 2011 featuring famed Cebuano Cosplayers!

OTAKUFEST IV


The University of the Philippines Cebu College will once again host the most anticipated collegiate cosplay event in Cebu City, the UP OTAKUFEST.

On February 05, 2011 , All roads lead to UP Cebu Grounds as all Otaku (or hobbyists)/ Anime Enthusiast  from all over Cebu will gather for the Otakufest. On it's 4th year, it will be more exciting because a lot of activities is in store for everybody.  Gates will open at 9:00am

This year, entrance fee is at Php 60.00   See you all there!

Cosplay Competitions (Solo & Group)

Solo Cosplay Competition

1. This competition is open to all.
2. Character portrayed must come from any published work (i.e. books, movies, tv shows, anime, etc.). Original characters are automatically disqualified.
3. Each contestant must prepare a presentation relating to his/her character.
4. Presentation must not exceed 2 minutes.
5. The use of hazardous materials as props is strictly prohibited.
6. If the contestant will use audio material, he or she must submit the CD to the competition head not later than 11am of February 5. Failure to comply is subject to 5 points deduction in the score.
7. The registration fee is P150 per contestant.
8. Interested contestants can register by sending the following details to upotaku.competitions@gmail.com: Name of Contestant: Age: Cellphone number: Character to be portrayed:
9. Deadline of registration is on January 31, 2011!!!
10. Contestants must be visible in the campus throughout the day (starting from 10AM). Judges will be stationed all over the campus to see how each contestant properly conveys his/her character.
11. Contestants are required to participate in the parade.
12. Criteria: 40% Attire (Accuracy, Craftsmanship, Creativity) 30% Stage Performance (Stage Presence, Projection, Dialogue) 20% In-Character (On Stage, on Grounds, on Parade) 10% Audience Impact

1. This competition is open to all.

DoTA Competition

1. Mode: Pick Ban - The two opposing teams will alternately choose their Heroes to be used before the game starts. After each Hero pick, the team also chooses a hero to be banned, and that banned Hero can not be used by the other team. The other team then also chooses a Hero to be used and a Hero to be banned. This will be done until 5 Heroes to be used and 3 Heroes to be banned are chosen by each team. Toss coin determines which team chooses first.
2. One (1) hour time limit. After the time limit if the team acquires Mega Creeps then they will be declared as the winner. After the allotted time there is still not a winning team, then the team with the highest number of towers remaining at this stage will be declared the winner. If there is a tie on tower kills, then the team with the highest number of kills will be declared the winner. If there is still a tie at this point, then there will be Team Face-off Phase. Each team's goal is to eliminate all of the other players heroes. The last team standing wins!
3. The game will be saved every 15 mins. If a player (or players) gets disconnected once, the game will be loaded back based on the saved state and the game will resume. If disconnection of players occurs more than once, the match will keep going and it will be treated as bad luck. Technical problems also apply.
4. In the event of a situation not covered by the rules the Contest Organizer will make a decision on the issue, in keeping with the spirit of a just tournament and the interests of fairness.
Registration fee: P 500/ team

J-Pop Dance Contest

1. This competition is open to all.
2. Each group is allowed a maximum of 10 members.
3. The group can dance any JPOP song/remix of their choice.
4. Each group is given a maximum of 4 minutes to perform, including entrance and exit. Failure to comply is subject to 5 points deduction in the score.
5. Hazardous stunts are highly discouraged.
6. Props may be used, but not necessary.
7. Each group must submit a CD of their chosen song to the competition head not later than 12 noon of February 5. CDs must be labelled with the group's name and track number. Failure to comply is subject to 5 points deduction in the score.
8. Groups are not allowed to perform similar songs. At the event that two or more groups choose the same song, the privilege to perform it will be given to the group who registered first.
9. The registration fee is P300 per group.
10. Contestants are highly encouraged to participate in the parade.

Original Character Design Contest

1. This competition is open to all.
2. Any medium may be used including digital art.
3. Character design depends on the artist's discretion. It may be full or half body, colored or b & w, etc.
4. Strictly no copying or revising of existing characters. Failure to comply means automatic disqualification.
5. Each artist can submit only one entry.
6. Entries should be on an A4-sized bond paper. It must not have signatures/watermarks/any identification of the artist.
7. Provide a short description of the character. Along with the entry, enclose it in a long brown envelope. Envelopes must be labelled with the artist's name.
8. Entries should be submitted to the competition booth not later than 3PM of February 5.
9. The registration fee is P100.
10. Interested contestants can pre-register by sending the following details to upotaku.competitions@gmail.com: Name of Artist: Name of Character: Medium used: Cellphone #:
11. Criteria for judging: 40% character concept 25% originality 20% creativity 15% technique

Photography Contest

1. This contest is open to all amateur or professional photographers.
2. Each photographer can only submit one (1) entry.
3. Photo must be taken on the day itself and must convey this year's theme: Royalty.
4. Photo must be taken using a digital camera or DSLR. Photos taken by camera phones are not allowed.
5. Photo manipulation is highly discouraged.
6. Digital copies of the photograph are to be submitted to the competition booth not later than 4PM of February 5. Late entries will not be honoured.
7. The registration fee is P100.
8. Interested photographers can pre-register by sending the following details to upotaku.competitions@gmail.com: Name of Photographer: Mobile number:
9. Criteria for judging: 50% Content *The subject, topic or substance captured in the photograph. 50% Composition *The arrangement or structure of the formal elements (balance, contrast, setting, etc.) that makes up an image.

otaku umi


Otaku Umi is one of the biggest events for TechKnow Week 2011 that will create an opportunity for anime and manga enthusiasts to gather and exchange ideas and in-depth information on the nature of anime and manga. It aims to gather hundreds of people who share the same interests and some who are just present for the fun and excitement. It will bring fans closer together and will provide them an opportunity to be known and be acknowledged. It includes contests such as the Anime Karaoke Contest, Anime Dance Contest, and Cosplay Competitions for Individual and Group.


Although this eveny is only open for Carolinians, this is yet another opportunity to gather all Anime enthusiast.

ARCHcon stands for Anime, Roleplaying, Comic and Hobbies CONvention. Aside from a Cosplay Competition, a lot of activities are in store for everyone like a Drawing Contest and a Tekken 6 Tournament.


Versus Gaming Tournament: Tekken 6

· Single elimination matches
· Infinite time
· 3 Rounds
· Bringing your own arcade stick/controller is allowed
· Standard set up only. You may change control set up before the match
· Pausing in mid-fight is an instant DQ
· Final match up is 5 rounds.


DRAWING CONTEST


· Papers to be used will be distributed on the spot.
· Participants can bring their own drawing materials excluding the paper. (Marked papers specifically for contest will be provided)
· Contestants will have up to 3:00 PM to submit their OCDs.
· Each character entry should have at least one descriptive paragraph made of 4 – 5 sentences.
· All entries after the designated time are disqualified.

Possible themes: Gothic, Samurai, Futuristic or Superhero. 


 
COSPLAY COMPETITION: SINGLE & GROUP COSPLAY

GENERAL RULES:

1. Anyone from any organization can join.

2. We will accept characters from any written or visual media. Original Character’s (OC’s) will not be eligible for the competition.

3. Registration will be done before and during the day of the convention. Registering early will not determine the order of performance. We will randomly select which group/individual will perform first.

4. Metal props and metal costume components are allowed for this competition. With that in mind please nothing bladed, or anything that will pose immediate harm to any of the participants of the convention or yourself. (We advise those who carry swords to please keep them sheathed as much as possible). We will still not allow any pyrotechnics or chemicals to be used on and off stage.

5. Groups must present a skit. Single division participants may not need to present a skit BUT will be interviewed on stage.

6. This year we put great emphasis on character but we know it’s tiring to be acting like your character all day. Therefore you need only be in character from 2:00 PM till after you have gone on stage. Please be in the convention proper area during that time.

7. This year our parade of characters will be held on stage to also give a chance to people who want to take photos of those cosplaying (additional details will follow).

8. Please bring your CDs with your music if you wish to have it played during your time.

9. There will be a repair booth for those who need to make emergency repairs during the convention.

10. We know that cosplaying your favorite characters is exciting but please let’s keep it wholesome. Ayala is a family place after all.

11. The breakdown for this year will be:


· 50% - Character (on & off stage)
· 30% - Skit (audience impact, originality, neatness) / Interview

                 (audience impact and IN character answering)
· 20% - Costume (accuracy & neatness)

SINGLE DIVISION RULES:

1. Should you present a skit you will be given between 1 – 3 minutes of performing time.

2. Once again if you wish to have your own music played during your time please bring a CD.

3. If you have entered yourself in the single division you will not be allowed to participate in the group division FOR ANY ROLE.

Registration Fee = P50.00


GROUP DIVISION RULES:

1. Group Participants will be allowed only 2 – 9 Members. This will not include props men if you should have any. We will allow props men to handle materials on stage however if the skit will look messy due to the number of people on stage it will affect your score.

2. You will be given only 3 – 5 minutes of performing time. Anymore will be deducted from your score. Timer starts when your skit officially starts. Set up all you want.

3. We encourage the group to interact with the other participants either as a group or individual.
4. Please bring a CD with your music if you wish to have it played during your time.

Registration Fee = P100.00 per member

COSZOOM


This isn't your ordinary trick or treat this halloween.COSZOOM is another cosplay event in Cebu on October 30, 2010, from 2:00 in the afternoon until 5:00 pm.  at Kartzone, Mabolo.  It aims to support iLearners Incorporated  by having FUN this Halloween through Cosplaying.

iLearners' Inc is a Non-Profit organization which help eliminate rural illiteracy one step at a time by supporting schools in rural areas by providing school material for these kids.  The Organization believes that we can always have fun helping kids to have a better future they deserve.

 There will be a Cosplay Competition where Cosplayers can flaunt the best they have.
Criteria for Judging :
                             Performance (30%)
                             Costume (30%)
                             Character (30%)
                             Overall Impact (10%).
The BEST Of The Best  will bring home (Champion) 3,000 cash and 2,000 worth of Gift Certificates

                          2nd Runner Up 2,000 cash and 1,000 GC

                          3rd Runner Up 1,000 cash and 1,000 GC

IMPERIA

HOBBY CONVENTION (hobcon)10.10.10
IMPERIA was graced with amazement and glamour as everyone took part in the meriment where Fantasy becomes reality.  It was a freewheeling parade of young individuals as well as those who are young at heart.  It was jam-packed with people who gathered to showcase their art not only in cosplaying but also in drawing, photography and in whatever hobby they might have. 

 The event featured A VARIETY of hobbies like COSPLAYING, PHOTOGRAPHY, COMIC ARTS, BLOGGING, TOY COLLECTION AND FASHION SHOW.  It was highlighted with a Fashion Show by ACRE INTERNATIONAL as Celeste Buenaviaje Shockey launced her Winter Ballroom Collection  
It was indeed the biggest gathering in CEBU for cosplayers and their families this year.  Everyone was in awe as Cosplayers flaunt their best in the Cosplay Competition.  And aside from that, CANE Events hosted the first hobcon young designers' fashion competition.
It was definitely an fun and exciting.

HOBCON 10.10.10

THE EMPIRE WILL RISE as CANE Events hosts the biggest gathering of hobbyist this year.


An Exhibit showcasing an array of interest from photography, blogging to comic arts will be displayed at the ACTIVE ZONE, Ayala Center Cebu from October 3, until October 9, 2010.
